Are supplements necessary as I eat a healthy diet ?
Eating a balanced diet should provide you with all the essential nutrients required for optimum health and wellbeing. But are you honestly eating a least 4-5 of your recommended 8 to 10 -a-day, every day?
Do you have enough variety to get a good healthy balance of nutrients?
Are your portions correct?
Do you cook the food correctly to maintain maximum nutrient value?
Do you lack energy?
Do you experience headaches?
Are you bloating after eating?
Very few of us can say that every day we eat a balanced diet; our daily activities and responsibilities all impact on our time and when we lack time, we lack focus on what we eat.
So what is the answer?
I do not promote the use of supplements to replace natural food sources of vitamins and minerals, but I am a realist and aware of the pressures many of us have in achieving a well balanced diet day after day; so this is where the supplement can support/enhance your natural diet. After all the clue is in the name – supplements are to supplement your natural nutrient intake.
Which supplement to take?
That all depends on your current food intake, activity levels, lifestyle and daily demands. In order to identify which supplements (if any) are necessary, you will need to complete a 7 day food diary for assessment.
Before I recommend any supplements, I will make suggestions to enhance your vitamin and mineral intake through natural food sources. If you are unable to implement those changes, then I shall guide you to which supplements* would be of most benefit.
Vitamin D is not easy to find in food sources and is often a supplement I advise my clients to take. That is because it is critical to maintain healthy bones and support the absorption of calcium.
Natural sunlight is a good natural source, though many of us now spend extended working hours indoors.
Some research suggests that those who took vitamin D daily lived longer than those who didn’t.
How does this all work?
- Purchase the plan.
- You will receive a welcome email and a 7 day food diary template.
- Complete the 7 day food diary.
- Within 5 working days you will receive an email with dietary suggestions and supplements.
